About the Project

Kern’s Food Hall, a 65,000 square-foot retail and restaurant complex, opened in April 2024, turning this historic industrial bakery into a must-visit culinary destination. Once the most prominent bakery in Knoxville, this renovated space now features a variety of food vendors, boutique shops, a rooftop bar, and an outdoor event space.

FourSeasons joined the project under a subcontract with BurWil Construction Company to provide HVAC and plumbing solutions for the entire building.

Our team rose to the challenge of blending modern mechanical systems into a historic landmark, without compromising performance or aesthetics. From carefully routing systems through historic walls and ceilings to coordinating seamlessly with multiple trades in a complex job site, our crew’s expertise, adaptability, and attention to detail were key to delivering top-quality results.

The Kern’s Food Hall project was completed in 2024, with all systems fully commissioned and operational.

The collaboration with Johnson Architecture, BurWil Construction Company, and our subcontractors has truly been successful.

“Four Seasons Incorporated was a highly valued partner on the Kern’s Food Hall project. They were proactive and worked well with the team to solve overhead mechanical, plumbing, and electrical coordination and conflicts. They staffed the project well and provided a level of service that exceeded our expectations. We can’t wait to work with them again!”
